Walcombe Results

Provisional Results and Point Scores for Walcombe have now been posted. Congratulations to Gordano for achieving a "perfect" score of 600 for the first time since KSODA in 2003/4 (NB Mr L, Kingswood managed it twice in a row). Amended scores have also been posted for Silkwood following a successful appeal by Kingswood to the organisers in respect of Eddie Narbett (Yellow) who ventured too close to the EMIT Finish Control when encouraging another runner and "re-punched" 10 minutes after first finishing.

to Avon Schools Orienteering
The Avon Schools league is an annual competition open to all
schools in the area. It is a series of 8 Sunday morning orienteering
events held throughout the year in which competitors score
points for themselves and for their schools. 
Orienteering
is an exciting sport which provides a tough mental and physical
challenge to the competitor as they use a map to race around
an unknown area of forest or moorland. The sport is perfect
for people of all fitness levels as you can compete at your
own pace. It is a great way to explore the countryside and
a good way to learn map-reading and decision-making skills.
Through
the Avon Schools League you can find out more about your local
orienteering club and take part in national competitions like
the British Schools Championships. From there, who knows where
it might take you!?
